"Now everyone receives the information at the same time" - Piiri enhanced HF-Autohuolto's internal communications

The Piiri application increased internal communication at HF-Autohuolto, all while decreasing the time it took to do. It took less than a week from the decision to the implementation of the application. According to the staff, Piiri's biggest advantage is its user-friendliness, and comparisons the application's domesticity also came out in its favor.

HF-Autohuolto's growing staff works in multiple locations and shifts, which previously made it difficult to reach all staff. Not all employees need a work email, and not all those who do  need to even check it weekly.

 

– Informing everyone at the same time was difficult, especially as the number of branches increased. Despite good intentions, this placed the staff in an unequal position, says Merja Koskela, assistant to the management of HF-Autohuolto.

Piiri won the comparison – domesticity, clear pricing and customer service were the deciding factors

According to Koskela, implementing Piiri has been really easy and smooth.

 

– It took less than a week from the decision to the launch of the application, although we of course also implemented content after the launch.

 

Koskela believes that the best thing about Piiri is the ease of use of the application, both from the perspective of the basic user and the administrator.

 

– Any questions have been answered quickly and clearly. During the decision-making phase, simple pricing without hidden fees and the clarity of the contract accelerated the decision making. In our experience, Piiri is particularly well suited to companies where the staff works at least partially somewhere other than in the office. Highly recommended!

Praise from the staff: “This is how it should be!”

Based on the feedback received from staff, implementing the application has been a good decision.

 

– Now everyone gets the information at the same time and things can be reported based on location or work group. We wanted everyone to be able to use the application without an IT degree, and based on the feedback from the staff, Piiri's user-friendliness has been the biggest plus. An example of user feedback has been: "Hey, this is how it should be! When there's news, tapping the phone notification opens it, and nothing else is needed!"

 

As a concrete benefit, of implementing Piiri, the internal communication at HF-Autohuolto has increased, information is provided more quickly, and overall the communication threshold has been lowered.

 

– This avoids a situation where some people know about matters and some don't, which could create an experience of inequality. Although the amount of communication has increased, the time spent on it has decreased because printing and distributing papers is no longer needed.

 

Koskela adds that it's been great to notice that the staff is also trying to figure out things that could be added in Piiri, whereas previously they made their own notes for the notice boards in the break rooms.

Surprising benefit: "We received more and more honest feedback than ever before"

Koskela was surprised by how useful the District's anonymous surveys and feedback channel proved to be.

– We couldn't even imagine in advance how much more and more honest feedback we would receive when employees can truly answer various surveys anonymously or leave comments without respondent information, even though the atmosphere in the company is perceived as open and management is easily approachable.

The company also shares important files that are updated monthly through the app, which are important for all employees to know. Previously, accessing them required a work email and there were frequent problems with logins on mobile devices. Now they are easily accessible to everyone in Piiri.

– News has also been made more often than originally thought, as have messages aimed at different groups. For example, messages aimed only at superiors and team leaders or people at a specific location are really easy to publish in Piir.

The company also specializes in the manufacture of superstructures for earthmoving and road maintenance vehicles, as well as crash repairs and frame repairs for heavy equipment. The company, which employs about a hundred people, is a repair shop for Volvo and Renault trucks and Valtra tractors, as well as a KOME, Palfinger and Lumikko service point.
