"Now information no longer disappears from everyday life on construction sites" - This is how Piiri revolutionized Rave Rakennus' internal communications

When everyday life in the construction industry is fragmented and construction sites change frequently, smooth communication is not a given. At Rave Rakennus, Office Manager Julia Huumonen recognized this challenge in her own work – and decided to look for a solution.

"Previously, we only had email for white-collar employees, and the rest of us didn't have a secure and unified way to get information. This caused constant concern about whether important messages would reach all employees," says Julia Huumonen.

The Piiri application originally came into the discussions after the CEO spotted the service. Piiri was identified as a viable alternative, but the implementation had to be postponed due to other service contracts.

When the right moment came, the decision was clear: Piiri would replace the two separate systems that had previously been used, a whistleblowing channel and an employee survey tool. Now they work smoothly through one and the same user interface, and we got a lot of other features on top of that.

The biggest change: information moves – and stays

The biggest change has happened exactly where it was needed most: in everyday information sharing.

"Before, the information that was shared on construction sites was very random. Now all employees have the same information available on their phones – easily, up-to-date and reliably."

Occupational health instructions, safety documents, event invitations, news, registrations and contact information can now all be found in one place. The days of printed notices, construction site walls and WhatsApp groups are starting to be over.

Human-to-human communication – without intermediaries

One of the main benefits has been the ease of connection:

"Employees can send me a message directly through the app. That has led to a lot of development suggestions and ideas that would never have come to our ears before."

The circle has enabled a new kind of dialogue between the workers and the office. Julia describes how in the past, the people on the construction site could easily remain an anonymous mass – now people are also present.

in communication.

When information flows better and people can participate, the atmosphere also changes.

"It feels like the sense of community has been strengthened. Employees feel that they are being taken into account and actively communicated with. That is especially important when the work environment is constantly changing."

"Piiri has made my job a lot easier – and given employees a voice. That, if anything, is valuable."

Up-to-date contact information – no more old PDFs on the wall

Another thing that has made everyday life easier has been the staff list: "We don't have the contact information for all of our employees on the website, but Piiri has them up to date. It eliminates unnecessary adjustments and saves time – and it's GDPR-safe."

Although Piiri is already an integral part of Rave Rakennus' everyday life, Julia still sees a lot of potential. "I'm looking forward to new features, such as site-specific discussion groups. We're happy to use anything that makes communication between the field and the office easier."

The Rave Rakennus story is a great example of how the right communication tool can truly change a company's internal culture. It's not just about sharing information - it's about making every employee feel like they're part of the work community.

"Piiri has made my job a lot easier – and given employees a voice. That, if anything, is valuable."

Rave Construction Oy is a strong and growing construction company that builds competitive and collaborative contracts and carries out its own housing production as a founding contract. The company's operations are mainly focused on the economic regions of North Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia and Lapland. Rave employs approximately 85 people, and the construction sites are constantly changing, which makes internal communication particularly challenging - and on the other hand, critically important.
