With the Piiri application, Konditoria pH7's internal communications now reach the entire staff simultaneously.
How to improve internal communication in a company where most of the staff work in production and some in different locations? Konditoria pH7 Oy, which employs around 60 people, took advantage of the Piiri application, which helps them reach all staff quickly and efficiently.
Previously, Konditoria pH7 's internal communication was largely based on printed papers and WhatsApp groups. Notes taken to the break rooms were lost or quickly expired, emails only reached the administration, and access to information was not equal across different WhatsApp groups.
Last year, Konditoria pH7 decided to centralize internal communications into the Piiri application created for SMEs, which brings together, among other things, internal news, files, surveys, and events.
– Various instructions and news are now available to everyone at the same time in Piiri, which is a big improvement to how it used to be. The application's anonymous feedback channel has also been important to us, because it means we don't have to have a separate whistleblowing channel, says Sini Mökkönen, HR Manager at Konditoria pH7.
The Piiri application has also enabled the patisserie to conduct quick electronic surveys, which have been used to map, for example, the staff's first aid skills and mood after the Christmas season. In addition, Piiri has been used to collect, for example, registrations for various events.
– Now everyone gets information about upcoming events at the same time, and we don't have to go around workstations or break rooms collecting participant information, Sini says.
The company also has its own group in Piiri for superiors, to whom targeted news, files, events, and surveys can be shared.
"Since implementing Piiri, it has been easier to communicate with staff about even the smallest things."
Konditoria pH7 Oy manufactures patisserie and bakery products for its own stores, custom products and retailers. The company has a factory store and approximately 1,700 square meters of production facilities in Tuusula, as well as a café-store in Järvenpää and a sales point in Ruoholahti Citymarket.
The company employs approximately 60 pastry and bakery professionals.
According to Sini, investing in internal communications brings clarity to the daily work of all personnel, increases people's well-being, and shows that the company values its employees.
– We don't want our employees to have to guess and ponder what is happening in the company. Openness brings meaning to work, as everyone can genuinely feel like they are an important part of the work community.
– Every product at Konditoria pH7 involves craftsmanship and innovation is important to us in baking. We have invested a lot in the product development of macarons in particular and we are very proud of them, says HR Manager Sini Mökkönen.
Sini says that implementing the Piiri application has helped take the company's internal communication to a new level and also brought much-needed peace to her free time.
– In addition to a functioning application, internal communication also requires practice from us, and we are constantly improving at it. After implementing Piiri, it has been easier to communicate with staff about even the smallest things, and our goal is to post news a couple of times a week. Piiri has also received praise from employees. People are quick to notice if something hasn't been added to Piiri right away, Sini laughs.
